Made with love… Updated

I wrote the post below back in November and recently had a custom request for this sequin tank right before the Superbowl (she was from New Orleans and she wore it on the day of the Superbowl so it worked out perfectly! WHO DAT!).  I made the newer custom tank with a BEAUTIFUL RIRI zipper — this particular zipper cost $10!!! It was so pretty and I wish I photographed it before sending it off to it’s new owner… but I didn’t. =T

Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy does RIRI zippers have to cost so much?!!! I know, I know… the teeth are so much more refined, much more delicate, the tape is so much prettier and vibrant, and I think it comes from Sweden or something. Ahhhh, I’m so in loveeeeeeeeeeee with RIRI zippers… Yups, I don’t spend my money on clothes or shoes, this is what I spend my money on… It doesn’t make any sense to my Husband. He shakes his head at me all the time and says, “no one will know the difference!” And in my defense I say, “I know the difference! And it’s so prettyyyyyyyyyyy.” Deep down inside, he completely understands me. Hehehe.

November 2009 –

Here’s a tank I made by hand (and a sewing machine of course!) — Gold Sequin/Mesh tank with an exposed zipper detail (clean finished & fully lined with 100% Silk Charmeuse).

This was worn by Juley of Swank Heights and she actually wore it backwards tucked into her shorts! I loved how she rocked it and made it look so cute!! =D A perfect example how versatile this tank is and can be worn in so many ways if you put your spin on it.

RIRI zippers make ALL the difference! I made a coat where I used two 36″ long RIRI zippers. The zippers cost almost as much as the fabric for the coat!
