I didn’t have anyone around to teach me how to put on make-up when I was growing up, so what did I do??? I discoverd Kevyn Aucoin, fell in love with his work, and collected all his books! My cousin Kimmy and I would try to follow his methods and used his books as our Make-Up Bible.
If you truly appreciate the arts, you would know that make-up is an art in itself. Make-up is the medium and your face is your canvas. “It’s not meant to camouflage your face, but to enhance the beauty that is already there.”
He will always be one of our favorite make-up artists of all time ❤
Valentino, one of the Masters of Fashion, allowed cameras to follow him for the last two years of his career before his retirement. It must have been such an amazing experience for the directors to witness the brilliant mind of Valentino dream up beautiful garments and see him bring them to life day in and day out.
He said it best on Oprah when he said, “I am proud of what I did but I am proud to stop at the right moment when the room is still full of people.” Valentino is the last of his era and it’s such an appropriate title for the film — Valentino: The Last Emperor — I love it.
Valentino: The Last Emperor is now showing in New York! Yayyyy!!! Go see it if you can… I know I will come this weekend =D The movie will also be hitting theaters soon in Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

I would love to spend a day in Carine Roitfeld’s shoes… or her daughter’s! Literally. Or just to get a glimpse of her closet — that would be insane! I have this obsession with wanting to see people’s closets, to see what amazing treasures they store, how they organize it, etc.
Well, if you missed Carine Roitfeld’s CNN interview, catch it on Fashionologie.com Enjoy! =)
